Charter Health Crowd

I was expected to wait 1.5 to 2 years. This is like a life sentence.

I seriously damaged the meniscus in my knee while working in my yard and visited my doctor and physio who told me to expect a 1.5 to 2 year wait before starting on getting it fixed. This is like a life sentence. I am 68 years old and I found the incapacitated condition started to change my whole lifestyle and level of activity so I asked for alternatives and was told about Specialist Referrals and Dr. Day. Privately I had an MRI, 2 hours after requesting one and within 5 weeks my knee was repaired. The surgical centre was the most efficient medical process I have been through and I am now 2 weeks, post operation, 18 weeks post incident and it is nearly like new.

Why should anyone be sentenced to wait times that have a long term crippling effect. I paid less than a one person 2 week vacation costs.... and gained probably 2 years vacation from inactivity and pain. Best investment I ever made, and I didn't plug up the waiting list for others. I worked hard to have money in my retirement, I can buy special dental work, I can go on expensive vacations, I can drive an expensive car. Why shouldn't I be able to spend my money on something so frivolous as my health and well being ???
