I have been suffering from a severe back injury for 4 months due to 2 bulging discs. I went to see my family doctor and was referred to see a neurologist. I was told I have to wait up to 2 years to see the specialist. I am in severe pain, totally incapacitated and knowing that I have to wait for 2 years to have the first consultation with the specialist! It sounds like a death sentence to me. I am 48 years old and the main labor in my family. I am now unable to work. Therefore , I am unable to provide support to my family including my spouse, and my 2 school aged kids. I just want to be treated and get back to my life. I have been bed ridden for weeks and leave the stress to my whole family.
With the timely response from the private clinics that allow me to see the specialist for my treatment in a short period of time, I have big hope for my health. Unfortunately, I was informed all private clinics are under injunction. I feel like the government once again takes away my only hope.
I support that the government should give all Canadian their choice to choose private clinics for faster access. If the government wants their residents to enjoy the free medical system then fix it. Do not put us in long wait list that we don't deserve.
