I have had to wait and suffer in pain for years...

I have had to wait and suffer in pain for years to address injuries in my foot requiring surgery in the past. It affected every aspect of my life. Finally 2 years later, I was able to have the surgery and when I was having pain related to the surgery years later, I couldn't get in to see my surgeon. I was informed there was at least a 6 month wait list. Every step I took was painful. When I found the private clinic, paid a large fee, but was seen in less than a week, given a steroid injection, immediately the pain was gone. How many other people could be saved pain, and in many cases, not go on short or long term disability while they wait for a treatment that could be immediately helpful. How many people cannot afford to pay privately and have to suffer unnecessarily. This needs to be addressed. We are in Canada are we not?
