I have suffered with extreme headaches since June (6 months). After months on antibiotics, which didn’t help, I had a CT scan which revealed a sinus infection. Again I was put on antibiotics which again did not work. A friend of my husband’s knew a ENT specialist. The specialist looked at my CT scan and gave me an appointment the next day. He stated I had a broken nose which was preventing the sinuses from draining. The infection was so bad it has gone into the bone. He said I need an operation as this condition will only get worse. He has a 4 year wait list. He would do the operation privately if the government had not stopped private clinics. I am not a wealthy person but at age 74 I will find the funds to pay for this. Losing 4 years of my life at this point is not acceptable. The drawback is the government is blocking private clinics thus patients like myself are suffering. I urge the government to allow private clinics to operate. During COVID times many operations are delayed so opening up these clinics can help the residents of BC.
