I injured a tendon...

Patricia, Qualicum Beach, BC

December 25th, 2018

We moved here from Australia in July. One week later I injured a tendon in my rotator cuff. Had to wait 4 months in pain to even get an ultrasound. I asked the doctor if he could speed it up & he shook his head saying "You'll get used to it". In the end I discovered the Cambie Clinic who administered the needed cortisone injection. I feel sorry for people who need hip or knee replacements, especially those who can't afford to pay, as we could. They have to wait YEARS! In Australia there is the option to "go private" whereas here in Canada everyone has to wait, and wait, and wait...…sometimes in debilitating pain. It's enough to drive us back to Australia. In my opinion Canada, & especially BC, gives more attention to the whales, salmon & bears than they do to human beings!
