I tried to resolve my back issue in the public system...

I tried to resolve my back issue in the public system so I asked for a referral to a pain clinic for spinal injection nerve blockers. I was told they needed to triage the referrals and they would call me for an appointment.

I’m still waiting, and in that time I have had 2 consultations with a specialist and a surgeon and injections and within 5 days I was scheduled for surgery to finally get relief of pain I’ve had for over 4 months

I was told in public system it could be up to 12 months to see a surgeon and then 6 months from then to get surgery... who has time for that we need to be able to get back to work?

Why are we limiting the amount of surgeries a Dr can do in the public system and why do we not have enough trained medical personnel?

I pay taxes and yet I have now paid out of my own pocket for something that should be provided but I can no longer deal with the pain. I’m not even allowed to claim it back through MSP which is even more frustrating!

If you make health care unavailable privately and continue these waits we will have more people on disability claims and unable to work as they can’t get better and that will cause bigger issues... Help us get back to work and make health care options affordable and available.
