I am on a wait list for inguinal hernia repair. I am self employed and my work is very physically demanding. There's no disability for me I need to get up and go to work, including returning to work after doctors appointments. My hernia support belt is the only way I can get through the day without painfully bulging out. I am in constant discomfort and the surgery wait list is 18-24 months. This is unacceptable. Universal accessibility means nothing when you have some of the worst health care service in the developed world.
